Adverb Clauses

Clause is a group word contain a subject or predicate. The predicate here can be verb or not verb, either in the form of an adjective, noun or another.

In English grammar, clause can be divided into two groups, namely:

1. Main Clause
The main clause in Indonesian is often called the main sentence. The main clause is the clause that canstandalone as a simple sentence and have a complete understanding, for example :

"They paint the window"

2. Subordinated clause
Subordinate Clause in the Indonesian language is often called the child sentences. Subordinate clause is a clause that can not stand alone as a sentence. This clause will have a complete understanding when in combination with the main clause, for example:

"He is the writer whose book you're reading"

At the word "whose book are you reading" is a child sentences. Because the word is not having a complete
understanding when not in combination with the main sentence is "he is the writer"

Conclusion: I think the clause is a group of words containing a subject or a predicate. Clause consists of two groups: the first is the main clause that we often know as the main sentence and the second is a subordinate clause or often known as child sentence.
